Masonic Book Reviews

The information on this web page was prepared in an attempt to compile the locations of all reviews of Masonic books, as well as links to reviews of Masonic books on the Internet, plus texts of Masonic books on the Internet. I will try to add to it regularly, to include current reviews of Masonic books and reviews from the past, too. If anyone wants to send me email, especially if any of the information on this chart is not correct or if you know of additional information that should be included, please send me email by clicking on my name: Paul M. Bessel

(Books are listed alphabetically by title, ignoring initial "a", "the", and similar words. When a review or indication of text is underlined and in a different color font, it means you can click on those words and you will automatically find that book review or the text of that book on your computer screen. If you want to return to this web page after reading the review, click the "Back" button on your browser program.)

Bro. R. Michael Wilson of Moreno Valley, California, has sent me a file in which he listed and provided short abstracts for hundreds of Masonic books, in the hope that his list and this one can be combined. Bro. Wilson's list is included at the bottom of this page, and as time permits I will combine his list into the appropriate alphabetical place in this web page. If you want to go directly to Bro. Wilson's list, click on his name: Wilson  Note that Bro. Wilson's list is alphabetical by authors' last names, while the books immediately below are listed alphabetically by the first major word in the title.

For those who would like suggested reading lists for Masons, you can find two excellent lists prepared by Masonic Librarians at the following locations:

New York Grand Lodge Library
(Chancellor Robert R. Livingston Library)
http://www.livmalib.org/rcours.html
Massachusetts Grand Lodge Library
(Samuel Crocker Lawrence Library)
http://bessel.org/masslist.htm

If you want to go quickly to reviews of books with titles beginning with a particular letter, click on that letter below.
