MasEd (Masonic Education) egroup
The MasEd egroup is a computerized method of communicating quickly and easily with lots of Masons who are interested in Masonic Education.
Here’s how it works.
If you are interested in Masonic Education, and if you have an email address, you can ask to join the MasEd egroup. There are currently (July 2000) about 150 members. To make it easy, you can use this button —
Click to subscribe to the MasEd egroup
Each member of the MasEd egroup can quickly and easily send a message that will be seen by all the other members of the group. For example, you can tell everyone about an interesting lodge or Grand Lodge education program that is coming up or that has taken place, or exchange ideas about how to promote Masonic education, or anything similar.
It’s easy to use. When you are a member of the MasEd egroup, you can send an email message to the group just as easily as you can send an email message to one person. In the “to” box, all you do is type: [email protected] (or click on the underlined words just listed) and then type your message just as you would normally. That’s all there is to it. (Please only type [email protected] n messages you want to send to the egroup, and do not make this one of a list of addresses.)
Remember that the purpose of the MasEd egroup is only to send messages about Masonic education. If you want to send a message about other Masonic subject, or anything else such as how to use your computer, there are many other methods to do that elsewhere, and the moderators of the MasEd dgroup would be happy to help you.
If you want to look at messages that have been sent in the past to the MasEd egroup, just go to the MasEd egroup webpage at Egroups, starting at http://www.egroups.com and check the “messages” section. If you want to see files that have been uploaded, go to the “files” section. We also may start using the “calendar” and “database” sections.
Please remember that not everyone has the same type of computer as you. Therefore, the MasEd egroup cannot accept any messages with “attachments,” or any messages with bold, colors, italics, or anything else other than plain typing. If you have files or long messages that you want to share, you can upload them to the “files” section of the MasEd egroup. If you need help, contact the moderators of the MasEd egroup.
